Steve DePalma was raised in Northern NJ. "My father taught me the value of hard work, discipline and having a game plan.  He also was the person responsible for my start in real estate investing at a young age."

I have always had a love for the mountains and my two children, Drew and Jamie were raised on skis.  At first, the lifestyle was cultivated at our ski home in Vermont.  But as our love for the mountain lifestyle grew, we found ourselves desiring to be in the big mountains of the Rockies.  My family and I, visited most of the mountain region, including Breckenridge, Summit County, Vail, Beaver Creek, Park City, Utah, Snowbird, Whistler and Blackcomb.  After spending holidays visiting these places, we finally decided on Breckenridge as the place where we wanted to build a future for our family.  Initially, we bought our home here and used it as a vacation home.  We would enjoy the holidays here in Breckenridge.  But we were surprised that the summers in Breckenridge were simply amazing.  Compared to the heat and humidity of the East Coast, Breckenridge was an oasis.  The weather in Breckenridge is sunny, temperate and dry.  And there are endless activities to partake in.  But each time we left the mountains to go back East, it became more and more difficult.  As we flew back to Newark, NJ, we knew that we belonged in Breckenridge.  So, shortly after 9/11, we reevaluated our lives, moved to Breckenridge as full time residents and we have never looked back. We made the decision to transplant our lives here in Breckenridge and are living the Colorado Rocky Mountain dream."

Steve's decision to leave the corporate finance world behind was not an easy one. However, it has always been his dream to work in Real Estate. Steve has been investing in Real Estate for over 20 years, so the transition felt natural.  In addition, his background as a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) with over 20 years of experience enables him to analyze financial situations and conditions and recommend real estate investment solutions for his clients.  Steve has found that being a Colorado Realtor is so rewarding because it has allowed him to be involved in an industry that helps create memories for families for years to come. "I love what I do and it shows. One thing I cherish most is earning the trust of my clients."

"In my spare time, I enjoy photography, snowboarding, fly-fishing, cycling, swimming, running and hiking. I enjoy spending time outdoors with my two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Buck and Bradley. I also enjoy meeting new people while participating in a variety of events in Summit County."
