The Breckenridge Oktoberfest comes to Main Street Breckenridge this weekend., September 12 -14, 2008.  The Oktoberfest is one of the town’s favorite events that occur on Main Street, Breckenridge each year.  This 21st annual addition will include Great Beer, Food from Bavarian Region, music, dancing and fun activities for the children.  Breckenridge Oktoberfest is all about enjoying the fall foliage, having a good time and with family and friends and filling your stein with some of the best beer on the planet.  So grab your stein, put on your dancing shoes and join in this amazingly fun celebration of German Heritage, the mountains and the Fall Season.

Brewmaster’s Dinner
September 12, 2008
The Brewmaster’s Dinner will be held at the Salt Creek Restaurant, 110 E. Lincoln. It will include a six-course European style dinner, each course will be paired with a different European bier. The reception will start at 6p.m. (the first of six courses), and dinner will start at 7p.m. Tickets are $65 each or $120 for a couple.

Oktoberfest Street Party
Saturday, September 13 – 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Sunday, September 14 – 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
This is a pet free event
Located in the 100, 200 and 300 South blocks of Main Street. The street party kicks off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 13th, and the official keg will be tapped at noon. The street party features live music with Those Austrian Guys, food and beverage vendors, Schuhplattler dancers, kids’ rides and inflatables and much more.

Oktoberfest 5K Run / Walk
Saturday, September 13
10a.m. start
The 7th Annual Oktoberfest 5K is back again this fall offering an active start to a festive weekend. Lace up your running shoes and experience the changing aspens and beautiful scenery in this 5K trail run/walk on Town of Breckenridge trails, finishing in time to enjoy the Breckenridge Oktoberfest happenings. Race begins and ends at the Riverwalk Center in downtown Breckenridge.
Cost: Adults: $20 (pre-registered); $25 (race day)
Youth 17 & under: $10 (pre-registered); $15 (race day)

There were over 10,000 ducks sold and released into the Blue River.  The beneficiary of the proceeds of the race is the Summit Foundation.  The Grand Prize was a 2 Year Lease on a 2008 Jeep Liberty donated by Vista Auto Group.  Below are some pictures of the Duck Races.
